8 Skills for Career SuccessTM
The 8 Skills for Career Success™ is a skill development program designed to teach people how to increase their success at work by increasing their workplace productivity and workplace effectiveness. Based on a review of approaches used by global business leaders and leveraging Bill Lang’s Harvard and International business experiences, 8 Skills for Career Success™ has been designed to integrate business management, interpersonal effectiveness and career self-management skills.
Every individual is a personal service provider and the business management concepts and capabilities used by leading service organisations such as GE, Southwest Airlines, Starbucks and the Disney Company are equally applicable. Through the 8 Skills for Career Success™, these key concepts are learnt and can be quickly applied in the workplace.
When delivered in Seminar format, a combination of slides, discussion, worksheets, case studies, group exercises and in-depth video interviews are used. The interviews are with executives and global entrepreneurs and feature excerpts from the TV series ‘Career Success with Bill Lang’.
8 Skills for Career Success™ is an interactive and accelerated learning experience and can also be studied as part of a Self-Learning or E-Learning program.
Each seminar is quite different, and over the course of the series, participants acquire a range of skills that will enable them to immediately increase their workplace productivity and effectiveness. Whilst the completion of one or even two of the seminars will make a difference in the workplace, completion of all 8 will have the greatest impact.
We generally recommend that the seminars be completed in the following order:
- Career Business Planning
- Personal Branding
- Personal Productivity
- Effective Decision Making
- Relationship Effectiveness
- Great Team Playing
- Organisational Smarts
- Service Quality Systems
